Christmas with the Gates

We were so blessed to be able to take a week off and spend time back in Mississippi with our family. We had not been home since the move so it was extra exciting.

We left out Friday evening when Lee got off work and head out on our long 9 hour drive. However, we did not expect ICE to be part of our journey, so that 9 hours soon turned into 11. We made it to Arkansas around 2am and decided to get a hotel and make the rest of the trip in the morning.

Once we got into MS we headed over to his brother's house and dropped off the dogs and unloaded the car. We made it just in time to head over to Lee's cousin's house for the Christmas party. It was so good to see everyone. This year there was a new baby and you know how new babies make everything so special.

We decided that we would buy for the kiddos and make it fun for them. And let me tell you with 3 kids close to the same age, it was interesting. They fought over all the presents and toys. OH BOY!

The Family!

After a great time with the family, we had another Christmas party later that evening... Mamma Faye's Christmas (this is my husband's grandmother) We always do and ornament exchange and it's always fun!

Then on Sunday we were able to go to our home church and spend time with our church family. I was thrilled to see my gals and have some girlfriend time....I'm kinda lacking in that department these days...lol

One of our favorite traditions is going to Cotton Plant. It is simply amazing! It is known as Mississippi's Hidden treasure. Tucked away in the middle of no-where is one of the largest inflatable Christmas displays. The lights and atmosphere is simply amazing. It's by far one of my favorite traditions.

I love this picture of Arlee, Lilly and Jackson. The excitement of Christmas gleaming in their little eyes.

We had an amazing week packed with family, friends, fun and lots of food. But 'like always the week went by super fast and we were on our way back home to celebrate Christmas Eve and let's be honest wrap a ton of presents....
