It is no secret that woman desire to look their best. We want flawless skin, and a glowing complexion. We want to feel young and keep the wrinkles away. Some women are willing to pay any amount of money for the latest product that promises youth and glowing skin. Unfortunately, there is no product, surgery or pill that can keep the wrinkles away. It is a natural process of life. We might be able to hid the grey hair and cover up the bags under our eyes but we can not stop the aging process.

But don’t be disheartened, there is a beauty secret that has stood the test of time. It’s a beauty secret that guarantees a natural glow. It's a glow so amazing, that it will draw people to you. It does not matter what your age is or how many wrinkles you may have or how deep the bags are under your eyes. A WALK WITH GOD

There are no substitutions for this process. There are not short cuts. You can not buy it. You can not borrow it from someone else. It is very plain and very simple. You must walk with God.

You may ask how does a walk with God and a relationship with Him give you beauty and a glowing continence?

Let’s look in Exodus 34; Moses has been spending time with God on Mt. Sinai writing the 10 commandments.  When he comes down from the mountain the children of Israel noticed that Moses’ face is shining.

 Exodus 34:35 “And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone…

His face was shining because he had been in the presence of God Almighty. He had been with the Light and that Light showed on his countenance.

Ladies, we can not make a light shine that does not exist. If we do not spend time with God, then we will not have His Light. We can put the most expensive make-up on our faces, and use the best night cream there is on the market; but that will never take the place of a relationship with Him. And it will not give you the glow you desire. You can not fake it. You either have the light or you do not. This glow comes only through a relationship spent with Jesus.

You can not wave a flame-less candle into a dark room and expect it shine light. Neither can you sparkle and shine in a dark world if you do not have the Light of God

So many times we women totally miss it. We get so busy focusing on all the outer details that we miss the main beauty step, our heart and our relationship with God.

I love fashion, I love make-up, and I obsess over jewelry, purses and shoes. I enjoy getting all dolled up and looking my best. But this can not be my focal point. If  I am depending on clothes, accessories, make-up and big hair to find my self-worth then I have missed the mark.

I Peter 3 3-4 “Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, eve the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God a great price.”

I Timothy 2:8-9 “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; but with becometh women professing godliness…”

I am guilty of falling into that trap of misguided thinking “Oh, if I only had that outfit, I would be so happy and content. It will make me feel good about myself” or “Man if I could just get that purse, I will be accepted by my co-workers .” or “That color lipstick will make be feel pretty.”  Yes, we all want to feel pretty and beautiful. We want nice clothes, pretty hair and radiant skin. But maybe we should rely more on God for our beauty and less on materialism and make-up.

Psalms 90: 17a “Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us...”

Just imagine a lady of God with the beauty of the Lord upon her. That is what I  long for. Sure being beautiful and being described as gorgeous would be quite nice, but outward beauty fades with time. Instead, imagine being described as godly or virtuous, that is a lasting beauty that will stand the test of time. And no amount of time will fade that away.  

Friend, we must change our way of thinking. The Bible encourages us to put the emphasis on our heart and being godly and not on our outer appearance. Does this mean that enjoying fashion and make-up is a sin? No, not at all!  But when we are consumed by it and it becomes our number one priority in life, then we have become distracted. Ladies, let’s not get side-tracked on outer beauty. Don’t let reality TV influence you into being consumed with your looks. We live in a day where the emphasis is on a woman’s beauty instead of her hear. It's easy to view beauty as the world sees it.  The world defines beauty as flawless skin,  being skinny, healthy,  sculpted and fit, wearing certain clothes, having  long wavy hair and have pearly white teeth. Beauty is defined by popularity and the number of followers you have on social media.  But God defines beauty a lot differently.  He looks at our hearts. 

I Samuel 16:7 “…for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”

Our heart has a way off telling on us.

There is no age limit on it. It is available for all. Money can’t buy it and the world can not claim it. It is the best kept beauty secret; it is available for you and for me. Yes,  I will continue to wear makeup,  poof my hair and enjoy cute clothes,  but I want to keep my main focus on my heart and not on my appearance.
